For this project, our professionals at D&M Group were contacted by our client to completely renovate an old fashioned pub in Essex during lockdown. We worked closely with the client to understand their specific needs for this particular location; we were required to strip out the fixtures and fittings, safely install new cladding and finally decorate the ground floor and three store rooms at the pub. As per our usual procedure we undertook a risk assessment, followed our health and safety procedures and devised a tailored plan of work and a schedule unique to this project. With everything in place we despatched our team of specialists to begin the project.
First and foremost we began with stripping out the buildings old fixtures and fittings, ensuring that all furniture and other white goods in the building were removed. Before we moved on to install the new hygienic cladding, our engineers found asbestos to be present in the working area. Despite this unexpected outcome, without straying too far from our schedule, we immediately called in a specialist contractor to safely remove the asbestos from the asbestos containing materials (ACMs). As a result of this, we managed this removal process and oversaw that all was well taken care of; we were extra diligent and cautious throughout this process in order to guarantee maximum safety, this included setting up an enclosure, continuously cleaning equipment, safely dealing with the asbestos as well as the final all clear air test.
Once the area was completely safe and clean from the asbestos, we were able to let more staff re-enter the area. Having done so, without wasting any time, our engineers then got to work with all of the necessary installations, this included boarding the ceilings with new plaster boards, installing all electric works, damp-proofing the walls to prevent any potential future damage and installing the new and much more hygienic cladding into the building. Without delay, we were able to complete this in a timely manner and move on to the final lick of paint.
Our specialists’ attention to detail and precision is especially noteworthy, as they were able to completely transform the appearance of the pub by painting walls and floors of the ground floor and three store rooms located to the rear of the pub. To ensure the quality of our service was long-term, we used a unique and long lasting paint which will allow this crisp and sleek paint job to be ultra-durable for our client.
As is evident from our project photographs, our engineers were able to materialise a safe, clean environment with a professional aesthetic thereby meeting the needs of our client. Furthermore we commend our workers for their professionalism, quick thinking and adaptability as they were able to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the project in a manner that gave our client full confidence as we continued to produce the desired outcome for the entire project. Consequently, the completion of this project resulted in a professional quality service and a well satisfied client.
